For this fun family session, I was able to travel to their acreage. I mean, really, could this be any more perfect place to raise a family? A few cute barns, some beautiful mature trees, trails cut through long, wavy grass, and some BEAUTIFUL children to roam! So perfect! I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family before and we ended our session by heading inside their beautiful home and seeing their wall arrangements they have displayed from our previous sessions! So proud to help with that and such an amazing feeling to walk into someone’s home and appreciate your own work!
I get asked .a lot. if I only photograph babies. OF COURSE NOT! At this time, the only thing I do not book is senior photography and weddings. That being said, I do like to consider myself a specialist in newborn, baby, and child/family photography. It’s what I’m good at- it’s where I’m comfortable, and where I think I can make my subjects comfortable as well. I only take a VERY limited number of sessions each month- and usually I fill my books with newborns and babies, but summer and fall always end up being a ton of fun for me, running around outside capturing crazy kid and family moments!
Big thanks to the G family- it was *so* cold at their session, but they did an awesome job of having fun and staying warm! I laughed out loud so many times during their session, and every time I’ve looked through them as well! I hope that you will too! Such a beautiful family and two little boys with some handsome looks and great personality to boot!!!
Truly nothing more beautiful than a new mom snuggling with her baby. I wish .every. new mom who brings her newborn baby for photos would allow me to take just one photo of her with her new baby. Why? Because it’s Special. Because you and your body just gave life to a new baby- the bond you have is incredible and most of all beautiful. It’s such a fleeting time in life- your body and mind are tired, but your love never does. Is there anything in life that feels better than your newborn baby against your chest?? It is truly incredible what a new mom does for her baby- some times days without sleep, hours of nursing, rocking, snuggling, changing diapers, giving bottles, laundry and more laundry. What a gift.
I shoot with two cameras at all of my newborn sessions. 1- I need a backup camera for *all* sessions- let’s face it, cameras are definitely full of technology and mechanical parts- they are bound to break at some point in time, and I cannot have that happen during a session. 2- this allows me to mount my macro lens on my backup camera, so it’s always ready for a baby bit photo. I always LOVE my macro shots- something extra special about them.
This post is all black and white images- I personally LOVE black and white images. My husband has to beg me to order color images of our boys to display in our home. I think black and white wall portraits are most sophisticated, timeless, and artsy, and the other thing is that the artwork will match any room in our home and any furniture/ accessories as well, and I’m an ‘easy’ decorating kind of person!
This sweet baby girl has an adorable big sister whom I also had the pleasure of photographing. It’s so amazing to me to see how families are created- big sis looks JUST like Daddy and little sis looks JUST like Mommy! Big thanks to B&A for bringing their daughters to me for their newborn sessions!
Sigh. Something makes me extra happy when I get to photograph a family’s third son. It’s an elite club that I belong to- a Mommy to three boys. I LOOOOVE baby boys!!! They are always so squishy and fun to hold- feels so familiar for me!
The reason I have to share baby B– his cheeks were to die for and his skin was so creamy, but check out the *sneeze* picture! AHHHH-CHOOOO! I can’t believe I caught it! Newborns sneeze a lot- so it’s so appropriate and plus it made me smile!!
