And Miss D, just one week after she was born.

Isn’t she just the most beautiful baby?

The list of things that I love about her is LONG.

Her hair, her lips, her cute little fingers, adorable little toes, but probably my favorite is her AMAZING dimples.  And thank goodness she smiled several times so I could capture those adorable little cheek dents!:)

I took so many macro shots of her- I just couldn’t get my fat camera out of her pretty little face!  (…and, I quite simply LOVE taking pictures of baby bits!!!!)

It was so special to see her birth, and then to see her a week later at her session- she had already changed so much!

Thanks for peeking!

Oh MY Shannon these are flipping gorgeous!!!!! Your B&Ws are so so dreamy XO

{ a birth story} La Crosse Wisconsin Baby Birth

{Firsts}

So many firsts this day- first breaths, first cries, first glimpses, first baths, first kisses, first tears, AND my first birth photography adventure!  I was (and still am) so honored to have been asked to help capture photos of the day this AMAZING couple welcomed their baby girl into this world.   I loved every single minute- so many times during these few hours I was reminded about when we welcomed our own boys into this world and those are for.ever some of my most wonderful moments of our lives.  Moments that are so *foggy* because you are so nervous, in so much pain, so much going on, a little scared, etc.  I am (to be honest) a little jealous that I don’t have birth photos of my own babies.  WHY oh why didn’t I pursue this?  Sure I have snapshots and sure my husband attempted to take photos with my ‘big girl’ camera, but they are out of focus, under exposed, etc, but do you know what the problem is with husbands as photographers on birth days?  THEY ARE BUSY.  They are distracted, helping, being supportive, rubbing backs, pacing, nervous and anxious too!!:)

This was just such a special experience for me- I could not have asked for a more amazing couple to work with- so kind, so down to earth, so appreciative, and so thoughtful.  I am SO happy for them!  Truly nothing more miraculous than the first breath of a child, and she is welcomed with much love.

I hope you enjoy just a little peek into what this incredible day was like.  Just a few of the nearly 300 photos I took that day (so many of them brought tears to my eyes!)
THANK YOU J&S for letting me share your day- and for letting others see how amazing it was too!

Hi! I used my 35 1.4G for the birth photos (Super small surgery room) and the 50 1.4G once we were in recovery!) Thanks for your kind words!

.2012 Review. Newborn, Baby, Child, Family Photography

WOW!  2012 has just FLOWN by!!  We started out the year by welcoming our third little boy into our {blessed} family, and I took a few months off to snuggle him (and my big boys too,) and then got back to work!  I had just the most wonderful year- full of laughs, smiles, giggles and even some frowns (which are always welcome in my book!)

I will be hopefully creating a new website and blog SOON, and my hope is to blog MUCH MORE often in 2013 (even photographers have resolutions!) :)

Thanks for peeking back in at my blog- wishing you and your family a Wonderful New Year in 2013!

Such beautiful work. You blow me away every time! Can’t wait to see what you capture in 2013!!!

{ Corina } Wisconsin Newborn Baby Photography

Meet Corina.  One of the sweetest baby girls ever!   I photographed her older brother two years ago and I KNEW she was going to be beautiful before she ever arrived at my studio- she.did.not.disappoint!  Isn’t she just beautiful?  She was 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.4 inches long at birth and she came for her session when she was 4 days new so that her Daddy could be in a few pictures with her!  I *KNOW* how much dedication it takes to bring your newborn out when you just get home from the hospital, but I believe with all my heart they will cherish these images FOR.EVER.

Big thank you to Corina’s Mommy & Daddy for bringing her for her session- thanks so much!

Oh My!  How has it been nearly 6 months since I have blogged?  Well, I bet I have a pretty good excuse!  I’ve been having the time of my life (for the THIRD time!) snuggling our newest little boy!  I’ve been back to work for a few months now and I’m just finally getting into the groove of working and being a mom to three!

Meet little Hudson.  He was born nearly 10 weeks early and spent some time in the nicu before coming to see me!  At birth, Hudson was 3 pounds 10 oz, 16 1/4 inches long!  He was 6 weeks new at our session and about 6 pounds and just as adorable as can be!  I LOVED his smiles, his creamy skin and his adorable, tiny fingers and toes!  He was A.SLEEP for his 2 hour session and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Thanks to his Mommy and her friend for bringing him to his session- I hope you will cherish these images for a lifetime!

**Loved how his tiny little toe nails were still so transparent and soft!**
